WHAT IS VIRSA – AND WHY HAS IT BEEN ESTABLISHED

Thousands of people in South Africa – every day - are being tortured, robbed at gunpoint, violated, harmed and murdered!

It is beyond question that the country is in the grip of a CRIME CRISIS! Even our top Public Prosecutor Vusi Pikoli – says that the country is being held hostage by a criminal minority!

We say – NO MORE! The President, Thabo Mbeki (who we South Africans have voted to lead and rule us) and his appointed officials have demonstrated that they are unable handle the crisis. They do not know what to do, and their state of denial and inaction are exposing many innocent, law-abiding, tax-paying citizens – and visitors – to great personal trauma, harm, and violent death!

The Objective of VIRSA is for all South Africans and legal visitors to live in a safe country as our great Constitution allows us.

VIRSA aims to achieve this by a countrywide effort to remind Government of its responsibility to ensure the safety and security of all law-abiding people in the country.

You can participate in this initiative, by:

  1. Maintaining a positive focus for South Africa.
  2. Becoming part of a nationwide organisation that aims to bring pressure to bear on government.
  3. Co-operating in a responsible strategy of mass action.
  4. Submitting data about incidents of violence and crime – and allowing this data to be reported in the media.
  5. Assisting in making Government aware of the crisis of crime.
  6. Informing foreign governments and investors of the crisis of crime .
  7. Assisting in information campaigns in the foreign media.
  8. Allowing your data about crime incidents to form part of the Class Action lawsuit that is being prepared against the State. The purpose of this lawsuit is to bring to justice all elected and appointed State officials nominally responsible – and paid by the taxpayers - for ensuring the Human Dignity of all legal residents in South Africa.

They will be held personally and jointly liable for the appalling violation of all the Rights of Residents as provided for in our National Constitution, by virtue of their commission or omission, lack of awareness of the crime situation , inability or unwillingness to act.

Through the proposed Class Action lawsuit, the perpetrators of this violation of the dignity of the People of South Africa will face their accusers in the same way that the Nazis, Apartheid officials, Rwandan, Bosnians and Serbs were forced to stand trial.

The Members of VIRSA firmly believe that our Constitutional Court will find the perpetrators guilty as charged, as will the International Court of Public Opinion.

LIVING OVERSEAS?

If you have emigratedand are living overseas, you have had the benefit of a good education and upbringing in South Africa. If the South African government is unable or unwilling to accept the help of it's citizens, especially of all campaigns against crime and there is no decrease in violent crime. As a last resort, we would ask you to do the following to encourage the South African Government to understand the level of public anxiety crime crisis:

  1. Speak to your local media and tell them about the crime crisis in South Africa.
  2. Place advertisements in local newspapers warning tourists NOT to fuel the crime crisis by offering themselves as potential victims to criminals in South Africa – the Big Five today consists of: RAPE, TORTURE, VIOLENCE, SHOOTINGS AND MURDER!
  3. Collect money to hire billboards that explain the crime crisis in South Africa to the public in your new country.
  4. Write letters and petitions to FIFA to embarrass them for doing business with a government that has such a horrendous human rights’ record – and to boycott the 2010 Soccer World Cup and encourage others to do the same.
  5. Write to the President or Prime Minister, ministers, MP’s, church and civic leaders in your new host country, sending pictures and statistics to draw their attention to the crime crisis.
  6. Name and shame companies doing business with the South African Government.

REMEMBER – IT WORKED TO STOP APARTHEID – SO LET US WORK TOGETHER WITH VIRSA TO STOP CRIME - AND MAKE OUR COUNTRY A SAFE PLACE IN WHICH TO LIVE AND TO VISIT!
